Your Mean, Median, and Mode homework assignment is the first step of your Written Assignment calculations. In this, you will calculate the (1) population mean, (2) population median, (3) population mode, (4) sample mean, (5) sample median, and (6) sample mode of your chosen variable.
Your population and sample data set are found here: Titanic Data Set.xlsx Download Titanic Data Set.xlsx. The population set is the first tab of 891 passengers, and the sample set is the second tab of 75 passengers.
First, you will need to choose the variable you want to study. You are required to use the survival category as one variable, but you get to choose the second variable. Your options are: Class, Sex, Age, Fare, or Embarkation.
To figure out the calculations through Excel, watch the video I included under the Chapter 3 Module. Note that my sample set in the video is different from the one you will use. When you submit this homework assignment, submit the excel file so I can review your work. The purpose of this is for me to find errors you can fix before you do the next calculation.
Remember to save this excel file, as you will be working on it throughout the semester. This is not an assignment you want to start over if you lose the file! One method you can use to help prevent you from losing the file is emailing it to yourself for safekeeping.
