This assignment has to be 100% original work with no AI input nor any sort of plagarism. My university takes
plagarism very seriously and since it is my last year I would greatly appreciate it if you could take this matter seriously as I do not want to jeopordize my graduation.
This assignment needs no outside sources it must be completed purley based on the authors that are presented in
the chapters of our book which is attached to this order. Therefore there should be only one reference
(Williston, 2022) with the according page number.
Please kindly find below the prompt and question:
Please read the June 2021 Globe and Mail opinion piece by Dr. Suzanne Simard, “The destruction of the last
old growth forests has to stop” https://www.theglobeandmail.com/opinion/article-the-destruction-of-the-last-old-growth-forests-has-to-stop-we-must/https://www.theglobeandmail.com/opinion/article-the-destruction-of-the-last-old-growth-forests-has-to-stop-we-must/ and then respond to the following question.
Question
Simard’s claims that we should save old growth forests are based on her controversial scientific research and
personal experience, but they do not necessarily give us any moral guidance. Based on what you have learned in
Chapters 3, 4, 6 and 8, do we have a moral obligation to save old growth forests? Why or why not?
By using specific references, your analysis should demonstrate the ability to synthesize the issues and arguments
from at least TWO different chapters including: Ch 3 (Ecocentrism and Deep Ecology); Ch 4 (Economics and
Ecology); Ch 6 (Ecofeminism); Ch 8 (First Nations’ Perspectives) and Robinson.
It is fine (and likely necessary) to incorporate more than one philosopher/author from a particular chapter, but this will count as just one chapter. The aim is to think about how these topics might relate to, support, or challenge each other.
* No outside research should be involved. Refer only to course readings and resources.
